Hot time in Laketown tonight

Believe it or not this is a doodle. I wanted to do something "easy" and "fun" to "loosen up" so I thought about the time when all I drew were dragons and I thought I would just see if I still could. So I did this without sketches, on the canvas. A generic dragon soon became "what colour" and despite my innitial inclination to go with an orangey red I saw how the gold-ochre looked so I went with it. A gold dragon became "Smaug" since 1) I love The Hobbit almost more than LOTR and 2) I wanted to make an image of him before the Peter Jackson one is forever imprinted on the zeitgeist (sp?).
The trouble is "Big Yellow" only takes to the air once in the story so then I had to put Laketown on the lake in the middle of the forest in the crook of 2 mountain ranges with the Lonely Mountain in the middle distance.... A snap
EDIT: Meant to say it's 1200mm to a side too.
